Teaching and Learning Assistant for Design & Technology

Full Time – 37 hours per week – Term Time Only – Permanent

Hours worked between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday

Kent Scheme 5: £15,043 p.a. pro-rated for term time working (39 weeks plus 5 weeks holiday) £9.24 per hour plus generous Local Government pension

Our Teaching and Learning Assistants provide high quality support for teaching and learning within Design & Technology.  As a Teaching and Learning Assistant your duties would involve:

  • supporting  informing and advising other support staff who are deployed with the class in lessons to enable them to effectively support students’ learning and communication;
  • ensuring effective communication with, and between, staff and students and contribute to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students;
  • delivering particular strategies and programmes for students;
  • lead on general support duties including providing physical management and personal care.

You will have a good general education including GCSE (or equivalent) at grade C or above in English and Maths and will be supported to complete the Level 3 Diploma in Specialist Support for Teaching & Learning in Schools (if not already achieved).

An interest in Design & Technology is desirable along with experience of complex physical and medical needs is desirable.  However an aspiration to enable students to learn and achieve meaningful independence is essential.
