Lunchtime Support Assistant

Part-time : Term Time only : Permanent

£11.79 per hour : 39 working weeks plus 6.4 weeks paid holiday

15 hours per week : Monday to Friday : 11.30am to 2.30pm : £8,030 gross p.a.

As a Lunchtime Support Assistant you will support our students, who have complex needs, with feeding and drinking during the lunch period.  You will also support and enable our students learning during lunchtime activities.

No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however a genuine desire to support our students is essential.

Senior Teaching Assistant (Class Coordinator)

Part-time : Term Time Only : Permanent

32.5 hours per week : Monday to Friday : 8.30am to 3.30pm 

£19,245 actual gross p.a (£13.04 per hour) for 39 working weeks plus 6.4 weeks paid holiday

As a Class Coordinator you will coordinate, inform and advise support staff deployed in lessons to enable them to effectively support students' learning within an identified pathway class.  You will provide high quality support for teaching and learning and deliver particular strategies and programmes for students in a variety of settings.

In addition you will ensure effective communication with, and between, staff and students and contribute to securing efficiency and high standards of care and personal development for students.  You will also lead on general support duties including providing physical management and personal care.

You will have a good general education, including GCSE English & Maths (grade 5 or above or equivalent).

Student Support Assistant (One-to-One)

Part time : Term Time Only : Permanent

32.5 hours per week : Monday to Friday : 8.30am to 3.30pm

£17,400 actual gross p.a. (£11.79 per hour) for 39 working weeks plus 6.4 week paid holiday

You will provide individualised needs for a student for which full training will be provided.  You will be responsible for enabling the student’s learning, promoting their independence and helping them achieve.  You will need to be a confident advocate, recognising the potential of the individual and championing their needs along with possessing exceptional communication skills and patience.

We offer a supportive, friendly working environment in a country school setting and the chance to make a real and positive impact on the lives of Valence students.  The role will include a substantial amount of moving and handling and personal care.  Although experience of complex physical and medical needs is not essential, as we provide comprehensive training, an aspiration to enable students to learn and achieve meaningful independence is.

Care Support Assistant

Part-time : Term Time only : Permanent

£11.79 per hour : 39 working weeks plus 6.4 weeks paid holiday

25 hours per week : Monday to Friday : 9.45am to 2.45pm : £13,384 gross p.a.

As a Care Support Assistant you will be supporting the care needs of our students with physical disabilities and complex needs.  No experience is necessary as full training will be given, however a genuine desire to support our students with their eating and drinking and personal care is essential.

Valence School is a KCC Foundation residential and day Special School for children and young people with physical disabilities, complex medical needs and associated learning and communication difficulties.  The school is set on a beautiful campus on the outskirts of Westerham and is part of the Kent Special Educational Needs Trust (KsENT).
